While using System 44 and Read 180, you will need to use a headset with a microphone attached to it. Sometimes, the microphone is on mute. The program will be unable to hear you if this is the case.
Please see the steps below to find out how to fix this problem:
Step 1: Close out all Internet Tabs. On the Desktop, click on the START menu.
Step 2: Select CONTROL PANEL (normally located on the right-hand side). Click on CATEGORY and change it to SMALL ICONS.
Step 3: Now, your control panel should look like the picture below. Double-click on SOUND.
Step 4: A new tab will open. Click once on the device that said 2-C MEDIA USB HEADPHONE SET. Then, click on PROPERTIES.
Step 5: Click on the tab called LEVELS.
Step 6: Look where it says MICROPHONE. If there is a red circle , you need to click on it so that it is removed.
Step 7: Close out of the sound window by clicking OK. Then, try opening Scholastic and seeing if the mircophone will hear you.
IF the microphone does not here you, please raise your hand.
